This autumn, the Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival will make its much anticipated return to the local events calendar when it is hosted at Kay & Monty Vineyards over the weekend of 26 & 27 April. A partnership between Plett Wine Route and Plett Tourism, this lively celebration of the South African wine scene’s best kept secret will offer tastings of exclusively W.O. Plettenberg Bay wines, as well as masterclasses, live music and delicious snacks.
Held over the Freedom Day long weekend, this sophisticated two-day event will bring together serious collectors and casual connoisseurs, as well as the winemakers, viticulturists and farm managers who guide the process from grape to glass; all gathering to toast the good life.
Stretching from Harkerville to The Crags, the Plett Wine Route is one of the smallest and most dynamic wine production regions in South Africa. At its heart are a handful of small, privately-owned wine farms crafting exceptional still and sparkling wines from the cool-climate varietals that thrive here. Plett’s warm summers and mild, dry winters produce mouthwatering harvests of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir; all of which are considered the area’s signature vines.
